Laying the Groundwork — Starting the FocusPulse Journey

It’s official! We’ve begun the development of FocusPulse, our productivity extension aimed at helping users stay focused and motivated. In this first stage, we focused on planning the key features and setting up the core infrastructure of the app.

Prototyping and Feature Development

We’ve made significant progress over the past few weeks, and I’m excited to share some updates. The initial prototype of FocusPulse is up and running, and it’s feeling more real every day!

We’ve been working hard to implement one of the core features: customizable focus sessions. Users will be able to tailor their focus/break intervals, which is key to making FocusPulse a tool that works for everyone. We also placed a huge emphasis on accessibility, especially for neurodiverse users. The interface now includes a range of settings that can be personalized to fit different productivity styles, helping users manage their time more effectively.

The next big step was creating a points-based reward system that keeps users motivated. Every completed focus session will give users points, which can be tracked and compared to previous days, weeks, or months to maintain a streak. We’re currently fine-tuning the backend to handle user data securely and ensuring the app syncs effortlessly with Chrome’s native functionality.

Beta Testing and Final Touches

We’re nearing the finish line! FocusPulse is now in its beta testing phase, and we’re getting invaluable feedback from our early testers. The primary focus has been refining the user experience, ensuring the app runs smoothly and is free of bugs.

Our Chrome integration is functioning well, allowing us to track idle time effectively. We’ve polished the streak and reward system, making it easy for users to stay motivated and see their progress over time. Another milestone was optimizing the app’s performance. After thorough testing, we managed to reduce load times and ensure smooth operation across devices.

One of the final touches was adding a Community Page, where users can share and download presets. We’re really excited about this feature—it’ll allow the FocusPulse community to grow and help users find new ways to stay productive. The next step is rolling out the official launch, which is just around the corner. Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare to share FocusPulse with the world!
